Initial drawings explored new forms that could be more comfortable to use than the traditional, cylindrical peppermill.

The goal was to locate the grinder handle in relation to the main body to allow the most natural motion of the wrists and forearms.

This form was chosen because it incorporated desired functions and ergonomics into a sleek volume.

The grinder handle ratchets back and forth to grind the pepper. A removable clear plastic reservoir keeps counters clean and is used for measuring.

With the push of a button, the fill cap pops up for refilling.

As pepper funnels down, diminishing teeth on the central grinder reduce whole peppercorns into bits. This was fun to draw.
